Jon Jay’s 12-game hitting streak is now the longest in the National League - make that 12 games over 47 days - and he has been absolutely clutch at times. Including last night, Jay has three games in his hitting streak where he has just one at-bat to keep it alive.
While Jay doesn’t necessarily have quite the power as the previous number 15 lefty, his bat does have a punch. Three homers and seven doubles in 70 AB is awfully impressive
Allen Craig picked up his first two RBIs last night as well, incredibly giving him more RBIs than hits (1).
After Ryan Ludwick was placed on the DL, Tyler Greene has filled in nicely with a .308 BA since July 2.
We’re just sitting here crossing our fingers David Freese can return soon.
