The recent six-game stretch for the Redbirds has refueled Pujols - he’s hitting .333 with three homers - and has seemed to put in that Pujols ‘zone’ we’ve all been waiting for.
But the starting pitching has been the biggest reason for the five wins in six days as Cardinals starters have combined for 41.1 IP, a 2.41 ERA and a 5-0 record. It’s wonderful when you’re reminded how effective the ball club can be with a rested bullpen. You can do things like pull Trevor Miller after one pitch and put in a rookie.
